A 32A bra size means a 32 band (your underbust measures about 27 to 28 inches) and an A cup (your bust measures about 33 inches, 1 inch more than the band). In centimetres that is an underbust of 69 to 71 cm and a bust of about 84 cm. 32A is one of the most common sizes for slim frames and teenagers in India, and the sister size of 30B. The band number is not your bust; it is your underbust plus 4 (even) or 5 (odd) inches, which is how Indian and international brands size bras. The cup letter is the difference between bust and band: A is 1 inch, B is 2, C is 3, D is 4, E is 5.

How to check if you are a 32A

Wrap a soft tape snugly under your bust and note the inches. 27 or 28 inches points to band 32.
Wrap the tape loosely around the fullest part of your bust. About 33 inches with a 32 band points to an A cup.
Try the bra: the band should sit level across your back on the loosest hook, the centre panel should touch your breastbone, and the cup should be full with no gap and no spill.

32A sister sizes

Sister sizes hold the same cup volume on a different band. If a 32A band feels tight, there is no standard sister size (it would be 34AA, which few Indian brands stock), so most women move to 34A and accept a slightly larger cup; if it rides up and feels loose, try 30B. The cup letter changes but the cup itself stays the same size.

32A is a small size: a slim ribcage with the smallest standard cup. The cup letter alone does not tell you the volume: an A cup on a 32 band is a different size from an A cup on a 36 band.

What is the difference between 32A and 34A?

The band. 34A is for an underbust of 29 to 30 inches, 32A for 27 to 28 inches. Because cup volume scales with the band, the 34A cup is also a little larger than the 32A cup.

The band is too loose. Try 30B (tighter band, same cup) or tighten to the inner hook. A band that rides up gives no support no matter how the straps are set.
